Fab 4 Collectibles is proud to
offer
the "holy grail" of Beatle records . . . .
The STEREO AD BACK !
The rarest of
all American Beatle LP records,
this is the first version
of the first Beatles
album in
There are three
distinctly different variations
to the
Mono and Stereo back covers to
Version
One of Introducing The Beatles.
In its FIRST
incarnation, the back cover serves
as an advertisement for 25 of Vee-Jay's
"OTHER FINE ALBUMS OF SIGNIFICANT INTEREST" -
thus being tagged the "ad back" Cover
among the Collector's World.
IN ADDITION, The very first slicks
used for the album are
easily identifiable
as they have "Printed in U.S.A."
running vertically along the
left side of the front jacket one to two
inches
from the lower left corner.
The "Ad back" is the
RAREST Version One.
In all likelihood, no more than
5,000 Ad Back covers
were made. Because only
2,202 Stereo copies of
Version One
were manufactured,
the number of
STEREO AD BACKS IS OBVIOUSLY VERY LIMITED,
and one thing is
certain:
the STEREO AD BACK IS EXTREMELY RARE.
It has been estimated that less than
one
thousand Stereo copies were manufactured,
with less than a handful surviving to
this day !!
MANY DEPARTMENT STORES IN LATE 1963 AND EARLY 1964
HAD INSERTED LP ALBUMS IN THEIR OWN ALBUM
BAGGY PROTECTIVE WRAPPINGS, THEN SEALING THEM
FOR THEIR SHELVES. SOME EARLY ISSUES OF CAPITOL'S
MEET THE BEATLES , PARTICULARLY THE FIRST LABELS WITHOUT
THE PUBLISHING CREDITS, WERE INSERTED INTO THESE BAGGIES.
HERE WE PRESENT A MOST EXTRAORDINARY example -
AND THE VERY BEST WE HAVE EVER ACQUIRED of
a stereo ad back. THE LP COVER REMAINS IN ITS ORIGINAL
"SEARS ROEBUCK AND COMPANY" IN-STORE BAGGYWRAP.
This Cover is virtually FLAWLESS. CAREFULLY Peering
under the BaggyWrap,
the Cover looks as though it
came out of the factory yesterday.

THE COLORS
AND GRAPHICS ARE ASTONISHING.
BRIGHT AND SO BOLD, AND THE White borders
are "snow" white. the only "hint" of wear -
and we mean "hint" - is evident just along
the very edge of the mouth opening
where the baggy ends. this wear is extremely
minimal and mentioned here for accuracy.
THE Back Cover is SIMPLY MARVELOUS IN EVERY ASPECT.

The spine
is impeccable and the print
completely legible from end to end.

The
VERTICALLY POSITIONED
"Printed in
is indeed present along the spine
in lower left
corner
of the front cover to the left of Paul.

The condition of the Record is a gorgeous VG++,
with Just a couple of superficial light scuffs. the sheen to
the
grooves
are beautiful and deep. The Labels grade a
wonderful Near Mint Minus, with very minimal spindle wear.
The Label variation is the VERY FIRST ISSUE of Version One,
which matches the Cover precisely and correctly.
It is the Colorband and Oval logo variation
with the word "STEREO"
at the 12 o'clock position. It has
centered song titles and songwriters'
credits.
It also has "Long Playing" and "Microgroove" on the label.
This variation was pressed by ARP.
( VJ1062(1).SR1A Spizer ).

This example of an INTRODUCING
THE BEATLES
STEREO AD BACK
would be a monumental and
serious addition in a Beatles Record Collection.
The original Vee-Jay "Ad Back"
Inner Sleeve is also included.

By the time Vee-Jay resumed
taking orders
for Introducing The Beatles
in the second week of
February,
the company had decided to reissue
the album with "Please Please
Me" and"Ask Me Why"
replacing"Love Me Do
" and "P.S. I Love You".
This
helped create the more common version two,
which is known as the "column
back", issued once the
legalities
had cleared in
early February 1964.
